Amherst and Rachel Kimball, NY+KY>Ohio;Iowa

Amherst seems, according to census, to be from NY and his wife Rachel b. abt. 1812 in Kentucky. They had children: Roberta in 1833, David P. in 1836, possibly a Margaret J. in 1837, Armandra in 1842, Joseph E. in 1844, Harry in 1848, John in 1850, Henry C. in 1853...as far as I know.
I have found on here where there is a Rachel Kite m. to an Amherst Kimball about the right time (1832) in Lawrence, Ohio. Amherst's first child was born in Burlington, Lawrence, Ohio too (b. 5 oct 1833). Rachel Kite was apparently b. abt 1815, m. to an Amherst S. Kimball who was from VT. The 1880 census says he was from VT while others say from NY.
Does anyone have any light to shed on this? It seems so close, but haven't found enough to prove it's true.
