There is a James Kimbell in Warren Co at the time in question, but his children are as follows:
Edmund Kimbell Mary P. Kimbell James Kimbell (also born in Warren Co) Nathan Kimbell.
The James Jr, b. 1781 in Warren Co NC, Died in 1841 in Morgan Co Alabama. After James Sr died, his entire family picked up and moved to Decatur.Quite a few are buried there in the "Wimbley" cemetery (no Wimbleys are buried there).
James Jr had the following cildren:
Mary Burt Kimbell James H. Kimbell Edwin N. G. Kimbell Eliza Rebecca Kimbell Sarah Kimbell.
I have no descendants yet for James H. Kimbell, but he was born in 1819, so is a little young to be the father of your William.James H. WAS born in NC also (there's 3 generations of James).
It IS possible that I am missing children here - this information came primarily from wimbley cemetery with the intermarriages, etc.Not unusual that one of these would have later gone to TX, as James the first had a brother who moved to Texas. From what we can tell, the families seemed to keep in touch until about the early 1900's.
I do have a Blanton connection with the family however.
Fannie Kimbell, b 1909, daughter of William Bayless Kimbell of Texas, married George Blanton. So far that's the only Blanton's I show.Fannie is 5 generations down from the family in NC.
