Obituary for America Christean Kimberling-Quick
America Christean Quick, Reeds Spring, MO, daughter of William and Mariam (Hall) Kimberling was born February 13, 1916 in Kimberling City, MO and departed this life July 31, 2010, in her home, at the age of 94.
Christean was a retired factory worker and a lifelong resident of the area.She attended Keystone Baptist Church.Christean loved cooking, sewing and quilting.She even cooked for her mailman, leaving homemade bread in the mailbox for him, on a weekly basis.Christean also spent a lot of time canning tomatoes and pickles.
Christean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hal Quick; two sons, Byford Ray Quick and Donald Roy Quick; daughter-in-law, Darlene Quick; six brothers, Kenneth Kimberling, Earl Kimberling, J. B. Kimberling, Johnnie Kimberling, Ted Kimberling and Huck Kimberling; five sisters, Mable Fausett, Mariam Quick, Lorene Swafford, Nina Kimberling and an infant sister who died at birth.
Survivors include: two sons, John H. Quick and wife, Jeannie of Jacksonville, FL and David Quick and wife, Terry of Reeds Spring; three daughters, Louise Glidewell and husband, Mack of Quapaw, OK, Billie Sue Rhoades and husband, Duke of Cheyenne, WY and Peggy Robbins and husband, Dewey of Liberty, MO; one sister, Ruth Swafford of Pleasant Hill, MO; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Stumpff Chapel-South, Kimberling City with Joe Wolven officiating.Burial was in Kimberling Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Homes.
