“Dr. L.E. Kimsey, 74, for whom the many-curved Kimsey Highway between Benton and Copperhill and a school in Ducktown were named, died at 5:15 p.m., Friday. The Ducktown High School building originally was called Kimsey Junior College, but it was never used as a college. He had practiced medicine in Ducktown for approximately 50 years and was well known throughout that section of the country. He led in civic and charitable activities. When he began his practice, he used to make trips to patients on horseback and afoot. Funeral was held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the home, with burial in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.” [Zion Hill is located in Polk Co. TN].
