Re: Kindseth family of Minnesota
Hi Karen and Mike,
Being nomads seems to run in the family! It does give you some great experiences and different perspectives on most things, I think you will agree. There are not many Kindseths in Norway, it is definitely not a common name. There are more in the US than in Norway. Yesterday we found out that your great-grandfather, born in 1859, had a sister called Karen Grimsdatter, born in 1851 (we need to doublecheck). Did you know that? Today Karen is actually not so common in Norway, but Karin (or Kari, which is also the name of our daugther) is. Both our great-grandfathers are sons of Grim Sivertsen Blækkan, born in 1817 (we do need to doublecheck all this). We have not been able to find the emigration record or passenger listing of your great-grandfather. Do you have that information? We are also focusing on Mr. Blækkan, but he seems to be an elusive character, he has covered his tracks well. Rumors have it that he has roots back to some very interesting people. We will try to dig into that through my aunt living on Mallorca.
It would be good to communicate through e-mail (email@example.com).
