Thanks for your interest and input.It never hurts to question any lead one might find.As you say..'you never know'.
My Joseph B. King is also elusive.I can not find him in 1850 anywhere.He would have been about age 13. ( I would then know of his parents).
In the 1860 census I find him living with a grocery dealer and his family in Lincoln Co., Tenn.He is listed as age 23 and a grocery clerk.
In Tennessee Marriages 1851-1900 he is shown as being married to Cordelia A. Rutledge on 16 Jan 1867 in Lincoln Co., TN.
In the 1870 census he and wife Cordelia are still in Lincoln Co., TN living near the Rutledge family.
Finally they are in the 1880 census of Williamson Co., Texas with their family.A Rutledge brother of Cordelia's living with them.
This is all I know of the earlier years of Joseph.
