I have limited information on this line.I would like to exchange information with you.I descend from Genet through her first husband Sam W. Johnson.
The death certificate I have says that her mother was Ellen Neville.I believe that her mother was Ellen Ervine b. 1845, who married John Neville in 1873.I do not have proof, however.Aside from the blip in the death certificate that her father was John King, I have no other leads on who her father was or when/where he was born.
Genet was apparently raised with the Neville children (of Ellen and John) since family tradition has it that they moved from Bastrop to Milam at the turn of the century to be close to her family.George, Samuel, Maggie, and John Neville were all living in BenArnold, Milam Co., TX in 1900.
Now, that said, Samuel married Sam W. Johnson's sister Suvilla, and John married (his second wife) Sam's other sister, Martha.(With Genet, it's a case of my step-mother is also my sister-in-law.)Either way, they were living near family, be it Sam's or hers.
