Can I ask your source for Adelia's maiden name being LEE?
I don't have any solid info, just trying to put a few possibilities out there.
There's an AL death record for a John Hunster KING d. 16-June-1945 in Mobile, Mobile Co, AL, age 68, son of John KING and Adell WITTER, husband of Ethel BASSETT KING.
In the 1870 census for Beat 3, Mobile, AL there's a 26 yr old John KING born in Canada.
On his marriage record to Ethel BASSETT (18-Apr-1911) John's middle name is given as Heutis, not Hunster. Since it is such an unusual name and John's brother gave his son the same name as his middle name, I feel this might be a connection.
There's an AL death record for a Rosalie Isabel STROEKER d. 1-Dec-1943 in Mobile, Mobile Co, AL, age 64y3m10d.Father was William GRIMSBY, mother was Adela WITTER, husband was Fredrick R. STROEKER.
In 1900 Adelia states that her father was b. in MA and her mother in CT.
In the 1870 census for Beat 7, Brooklyn, Conecuh Co, AL there's a 70 yr old Robert WITTER b. MA and 60 yr old Lucy b. CT.
In the 1850 census this couple is in Baldwin Co, AL with several children. They have two daughters who are about the right age to be Adelia. One is 11 and the other is 9 and both names are very difficult to read.
