John B. King, VA- TN- MO, b. abt 1805 m. Sarah Bowman
John B. King was my GGG grandfather b. abt 1805 in VA and married to Sarah (Bowman). He was in Bradley Co., TN in the 1850 census and made it to Lebanon, Laclede Co., MO, where several generations lived including my late father. I have info (Dawes Commission Hearings)
that his father's name was Peyton & his mother's name was Chloe or Rhoda Chloe (Gunn) King, who may have been Choctaw or a Native American. This testimony claimed that Peyton & Chloe were removed with the Choctaw Removal and that Peyton died during the removal on a boat. They may be from a line of Kings from Pittsylvania County VA. I've been trying to prove or disprove the connection.I did find a "Cloe King" b. VA age 75 in the 1850 census of Marshall, Marshall Co., Northern Div., MS census living with Jackson King, 28, House Carpenter b. VA & Mary,24, b. TN & Ann E., 2, b. MS & Andrew C., 6 months, b. MS.I would LOVE to climb over my "brick wall"! Thanks for any help!
