Don't know if you rememberme, but you sent me Owen Kinna's prayerbook in about 2004, for which I am forever grateful!
I have just found something that may explain how you obtained it - in 1877, in Chorlton-on-Medlock Register Office in Lancashire, there is a marriage for a Mary KINNA to a James CARROLL!
I'm not even sure how this particular Mary KINNA fits into my tree yet, but the conjunction of the two surnames seems as if it may be an indicator of a connection, at least.
Have you found out anything further on your side of the family?
