I am researching the Kinsey name.I am looking for info on the parents of a Lucuis Kinsey, b. 8-1835 in Augusta, Ga, m. Elmira Hinson-Naylor, Ga. in 1855, and died in Inverness, Fl on 10--3-02.Their children include Franklin -b. 1862, Alice b. 1866, Charles Edward -b.1868, Thomas Jefferson -b. 1874, Joseph, and Andrew Jackson -b.. 10--17-1879.
Family stories relate that Lucuis' father was involved in Indian trading and that he was one of Andrew Jackson's Florida scouts during the Trail of Tears.Other family stories tell of a Scottish slave trader in Charleston, S.C.Any info that may relate to this Kinsey line will be greatly appreciated.
