Re: Need Help on--Henry Kirby, of VA & Susannah Wright-Kirby

Several of us have been researching the JESSE KIRBY (there are quite a few Jesse Kirby's)lineage from the Smithfield,NC area. Last week we located/visited the JESSE KIRBY plantation outside of Smithfield,NC(near Selma)and met with two Kirby women who told/showed us around that area ; our tour included a visit to the family cemetery located in the middle of a large field beneath a magnolia tree. Do any of you have any info about a JESSE KIRBY I (I am identifying him as the FIRST Jesse although there may have been others) as we do not know from whince he came prior to Smithfield. I have dates,etc and much more information (wills,deeds,etc). Jesse married Penelepah Parker the second wife and they had three children: James (our lineage), Thomas and daughter, Judah. Our James married Patience Watkins and they had a JESSE who married Mourning Fiveash and their son Frederick (married Martha Farrell) had a son Amos who married Sarah Forehand and named one son Jesse Kirby,my husband's father.This is quite sketchy but I do have many dates ,children and documentation to support much of this. We would so welcome any help in determining the father of JESSE # 1 ..thanks, Martha Carter Kirby
