In Memory of William Larkin Kirk, Jr.
Today, William Larkin "Bill" Kirk, Jr would have been 53 years old.
He was born May 13, 1950 and he died in March of 1999 in Houston, Harris County, Texas. He was a good and gentle soul and the very best cousin a guy could have. For he was not only my cousin, he was the best friend I have ever known in this life. My own life and the lives of those who knew him are poorer and emptier for his parting.
He was an accomplished Classical Pianist, Composer, Inventor, RailroadLocomotive Engineer and dreamer of incredible magnitude. For Bill, no task was too great nor dream too grand.
And so, I have taken the liberty here on this forum to salute my cousin, for he had no wake and there were no pipers to send him off or to cry his name to heaven.
I hope no one takes offense that I raise a parting glass to his memory.
Slainte!
