Two part question/comment. First, Is there any chance this could be the wrong Bernard Kirkbride that had no issue? Jane Featherstonhaugh and her second husband had no children. Secondly, anyone who traces their lineage back to the Plantagenet kings is a descendent of William the Conqueror. William the Conqueror to King Henry "Beauclerc" to his daughter Maud who married Geoffery Plantagenet to King Henry II "Curtmantle" to King John "Lackland" to King Henry III to Edward I, II, III to John of Gaunt or Lionel of Antwerp or....etc.
