I guess I must have gone cross-eyed when I wrote that John Reed was born at the foot of Kings Mountain.You are right, it was Richmond Kuykendall who was born there. The information about his father comes from Dr. G. B. Kuykendall's 1919 book "The History of the Kuykendall Family".You can find it in it's entirity on the internet.In one of the messages on the Kuykendall GenForum, someone has entered the URL for the site.
One of Richmond's sons sent the letter to Dr. Kuykendall who included it in his book.
