Noticed you had ties to Indiana. I am related to David Kirkpatrick. He was my GGGrandfather. David was born in 1809 and died in 1886. He is buried in Greene Co. Indiana.
He joined the civil war in 1862 at age of fifte three (53), along with son Henry Kirkpatrick.
David and wife Mary (Polly) Aiken 1820-1907, had six children. children's names were Cynthia, Elizabith, Nancy, William, Henry, and John.
William was my GGrandfather. I do know William served in the Kansas Cavalry before returning to Indiana. In 1867, during the Indian wars , William volunteered in the 18th Kansas Cavalry , Company B, and faught against the Cheyenne and the Kiowa.
I do not know if it is the same family of Kirkpatrick's you are looking for but if it is, please let me know.
