P.W./Bryant/JIII/JII/JI/DK...a/k/a...DC/JC/JC/JC/JC/RC/WC/JC or something like that being the son of Mary Norman Kittrell and her spouse Bryant Kittrell (who was the son of Jonathan Kittrell, of North Carolina, the 3rd consecutive Jonathan Kittrell and his wife Tabby Bryant). The father of Bryant was sometimes referred to as Jonathan Kittrell, Jr., he was the son of Jonathan Kittrell and Elizabeth Bryant, who were son and daughter-in-law of Jonathan Kittrell and Ann Durant.

Pleasant Williams Kittrell graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina.In 1824 he graduated in medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.He represented Grange or Orange County, N.C. in the legislature in 1830, Greene Co. Ala., in 1847.He moved to Texas in 1850 and was in the Texas Legislature from 1854 to 1858.He introduced a bill to establish the University of Texas.He was the family physician of Gen. Sam Houston, First President of the Republic of Texas and later Governor of Texas.He died of yellow fever.

Norman Goree, born July 27, 1849.Married Louisa Keyes.District Judge at Houston, Tex. for years.Later member of Court of Appeals.He also served four terms as legislator.He was author of many books, religious editor of the Houston Post, and was said to be the most gifted orator in Texas.At his funeral in January, 1926, in Houston, Tex., the governor, all members of the Legislature, the members of the Supreme Court were present.The attendance was more than at any other funeral ever held in Houston.He left six children.

2. William Henry Kittrell was born March 13, 1851 in Huntsville, Tex.He was graduated from Austin College at sixteen.The war had just ended and his father had died of yellow fever, so instead of attending Washington-Lee College in Virginia, as his brother, Norman, had, he was forced to manage the plantations.He became a minister of the Church of Christ [author's note: the Church of Christ, I believe, does not refer to their leaders as ministers, usually as evangelist].He was also an orator and writer.He married Mrs. Laura Barkeley in 1893.They have four children:
1.W. H. Kittrell, died at Cisco, Tex., on Feb. 28, 1934.The legislature adjourned in his respect and sent resolutions to his family.The governor, congressman and U.S. Senators sent flowers, although he was not a politician. His children are:[Names omitted for four children.]
