Re: Theodor A.E. Klebs (1834-1913, Asheville, NC)
Hello Barbara. Thanks for the link to Theodor A. E. Klebs.
Until I read the biography I did not know that Theodor was the father of Arnold Klebs.
My Klebs line does indeed go back to Konigsberg, Prussia.
I have a copy of a photograph of my great-grandfather, apparently taken as a teenager. On the back of the photo is some printing with the photographers studio clearly printed as being in Konigsburg.
My great-grandfather Albert Klebs came to New York in about 1880, however, I've not yet located his arrival date or location. His mother Augusta Klebs arrived came over a few years later, aboard the Steamer "Polynesia". I've found her on the ship manifest.
I've obtained a death cert. of my great-grandfather Albert Klebs. His father was listed as Robert Klebs.
Still trying to connect the dots.
I'd like to know if there are male Klebs' that would be willing to take the DNA test to see if we are indeed connected.
