Re: Kline, Michael Snyder Co.,PA to MI 1855
Do you have any idea where the LIVINGSTON comes from in Edward Livingston Kline's name?
Mr grgrandfather was William Livingston Klein, born about 1850.
His father Joseph Klein (III) and grandfather Joseph KleinJr., came from New York to St. Louis, Missouri, between 1810 and 1820, then went on to Barry and Springfield, Ill., respectively.
I have only been able to find one further generation back in New York, Johannes Joseph Kline/Klein, 1740 - 1811, who appears in NY in the late 1770's.
He was married to Anna Elizabeth Talhammer (Thalheimer, Kohlhammer, Coolhammer, etc.)
I don't know where they were before that, or who their parents were.
The earliest child I can find is:
Michael, b. 1774, place unknown, d. 1797.
Then, all in NY:
possibly a Gertraut b. 1776;
Joseph Jr., b. 1779;
a possible Heinrich b. 1781;
Peter b. 1783;
a possible Barbara b. 1785;
an un-named b. 1787;
Abraham b. 1788;
Matheus b. 1789;
Geertruy b. 1791;
Maria Sophia b. 1793;
Isaac b. 1796;
and another possible male b.1790 - 1800
William Livingston Klein's grandaughter (my aunt) is also Roxie Klein!
