Re: GEO. KLINE 1770s NJ > 1854 Lycoming PA
Your George is probably the son of Hermanus Kline, grandson of Hieronymus Kline. This Hieronymus Kline was one of the early Palatines, and there is quite a lot written about him in the usual Palatine sources and sites. (Be sure to check Henry Z. Jones' books on the Palatines.)
Refer to the messages on this board under "Narrative & Facts - Hermanus Kline" posted December 14, 1999. (It isn't clear in the message, but Hermanus is the SON of Hieronymus; they are not the same person.
Some info is on Douglas Weaver's site:
"George Kline, died Bef. Jan 06, 1785 in Hunterdon Co., NJ; married Rebecca ?; died Unknown."
At the NJGenWeb I found George's will abstract:
"1785, Jan. 10.Cline, George, of Hunterdon Co.Int.Adm'rs--Rebekah Cline and Adrian Kinney.
Fellowbondsman--Jacob Gearhart; all of said Co. 1785, Jan. 10.Inventory, made by Jacob Gearhart and Tunis
Tunison. 1790, Jan. 14.Account by Adrian Kinney.Lib. 26, p. 217."
Somewhere I am sure I have seen Rebecca's maiden name, but can't say where.
I am trying to find ANY info on George's brother Johannes, who may be my grgrgrgr-grandfather, Johannes Joseph Klein.
By the way, re your post on a Dubois from Greene Co. - my grgrgr-grandfather, Joseph Klein Jr. b. 1779, was the business partner of Isaac Dubois in Catskill, Greene Co., NY.
Joseph also migrated to Missouri; they may have gone together. I have come across a fair bit on Isaac in Catskill.
