Pat:The Gladen Knapp listed in the 1790 Taunton census is probably the same Gladden that appears in the 1800 Vermont census in Springfield, Windsor Co., and probably the same Gladden that takes the Freeman Oath in Springfield Sep or Dec 1794.Additional info:There were no Knapps listed in the 1790 Springfield Census, and 2 listed in 1800 - Gladden and Nathaniel. This Nathaniel is also probably the same Nathaniel listed in the 1790 Taunton Census.Based on the age distribution of children and adults for Gladden and Nathaniel listed in the two censuses, I suspect Nathaniel was the father of Gladden.Nathaniel may also have been the father of Elnathan, who took the Freeman Oath in Springfield in 1799 and married Lydia McDonald in Springfield 1801.I would be very interested in learning the ancestry of the Nathaniel of Taunton and Springfield and his known children. Thanks
