Re: Knapp-Family in Illinois

I came here looking for my Mary Knapp born in Illinois (maybe) and decided to devote some effort to this query instead. I don't know if any of this will be new to you or not;

I found this on the basis of the 1900 household;
Knapp Geo Wb abt Nov 1859 in Illinois, ma 7 yrs
Martha Lb abt Nov 1857 in Missouri, ma 7 yrs
Warner, Wm.step sonb Nov 1877 in Missouri
Knapp, Hattieb Aug 1892 in Illinois

Couldn't find a marriage of a Martha to a George Knapp, so I looked for Martha Warner.

There is a George Knapp in this household in 1870 Still in Vermillion Illinois; LC Knapp 55 b Mass, Priscilla 39 b NY, Dora 18, George 11, Hattie 8 and Eugene C 6

In 1860 Dora is Isadore, and there is Sarah age 13, Lloyd [Jr.} age 15 and Alvin age 16 So if these are your people in theory you could have a lot of kin out there.

with Husband John age 30 b Ireland [remember Wm in 1900 lists Fa bp as Ireland] Wm is there age 4 as Willie, with older sister Anna age 6, little brother James age two, baby sister Lizzie age 5 mo and last but not least Mother-in-lawEliz Johns age 58 b KY. So presumably Martha's maiden name is Johns.
