I am interested in the William Henry Knight line. He was a brother to Martha Ellen. I feel sure you have the census info.
I was married to Robert Lee Knight, the son of Oliver Knight, the sone of William Henry Knight. Oliver was the brother of Oscar, who was killed by Newt Brookerson over the grazing of a maize patch.
I am doing a book on the Knights of Buffalo Gap, TX and would like to know any family anecdotes that have been passed down.
I have been in contact with Bill Brookerson in Washington state. He has given me quite a few historical facts. Now I am searching to determine what they espoused and how they lived day by day. I don't know how they managed in that tiny one room log cabin with 12 children. Of course, some were grown and possibly moved away by the time they came came to Jordan Hollow in about 1975.
Martha Ellen married John Brookerson in Coleman in 1976, I believe (don't have that date at hand right now). They, too, built a log cabin not far from JMC's, but it has been lost to history, I think.
Thanks for responding; let me know what you would like to know. I will try to send the info. We went to the Jordan Hollow area yesterday to get the feel of the settlement. Of course, I guess you know that Lake Abilene covers the property owned by JMC. It is a beautiful little valley.
