Re: John Kosarek c. 1840s
Perhaps this is the family you seek.
STANISLAW KOSZAREK b. Prussia
+ JOZEFA (Josepha or Josephine)CHULSTA b. Prussia
2 Pelagia (Pauline) Koszarek b. 2-29-1880
+ Joseph Shinski b. 11-23-1879d. 3-20-1948
Joseph Shinski was the son of John Ciesinki and Krystyna Kwart (Christina Quart).
Stanislaw Koszarek was my g-grandfather.Some of his children later anglicized the name by taking the "z" out.He kept it Koszarek and thats how its spelled on his headstone.
Pauline also went my the name of "Polly".On the Michigan marriage register she is listed as Polly Kosarek.
In the 1910 census the family name is listed erroneously as "Kosarak".
The family immigrated to the US in 1881.Pauline's brother, my grandfather was born 1 year after her. 1920 Census and death certificate lists his birthplace as East Prussia.Don't know if its the same for the her.
Pauline did have a brother named "John".
Go to the pilot site of Familysearch.org for views of census and marriage documents.
Hope this helps.
