thanx for your letter.
I live in Budapest, and I was born here. I'm a 28 year old university student (I am a girl).
Now I'm writing my thesis about netaddiction.
My parents are Hungarian too, but my father lives in the USA.
Sorry, I don't speak English (I speak Italian and Russian). This summer I will start to learn it. :)))))
Sorry, I don't know and I don't use well the verbs, tenses etc.:)))
I try to tell you that Budapest is the capital city now. But in the past it was 3 cities: BUDA + ÓBUDA + PEST. After the union of these parts got the name "Budapest" (In the year 1873).
Geography of Budapest: Óbuda is on the N-W side, Buda is the West side, in the middle is the river Danube (its hungarian name's DUNA), and PEST is on the East side.
Now people use just the names Buda and Pest, when they want to picture what points of compass are thinking or talking about. Now Óbuda is a district of Budapest (exactly the third district).
So, "your grandma's from Buda" means that she's from the west side of Budapest - and your grandpa's from the East side.
If you have any registration of birth, death or marriage you can find your grandma's maiden name.
Maiden name in Hungarian is : LEÁNYKORI NÉV or LÁNYKORI NÉV. Look for these words.
Pam, I give you my direct email, 'cause these are too personal informations, ok?
You can write here personally:
