Clem C. Kramer
After a residence of 60 years in Jefferson Co, Clem C. Kramer, a farmer, died at his home on Cane Run Road at age 88, yesterday afternoon. He had been ill for the last four weeks of a complication of diseases.About sixty years ago he came to this country with an uncle who was a sea captain. He came from Stemford, Hanover, Germany and landed in New Orleans but shortly afterward came to Louisville. He married twice. His second wife who survives him was Mrs. Caroline Luecken.Three children, Mrs. John F. Wachter, Mrs. Lula Wellman and Clem A. Kramer also survive.Mr. Kramer always took an active part in politics and served his county as Road Supervisor for many years. The funeral will be held Monday morning at St. Helen's Church.
Does anyone know anything about this family?I am interested in his second wife, Caroline Luken. She was a twin, her brother Henry living with the Kramers and never marrying.Their parents were Bernard Luken and Margaret Puster/Pfeister.I believe that Bernard was the brother of my husband's great-grandfather, William Luken. All lived in the same area of Jefferson Co., along Dixie Highway in the Shively area.
