Bonjour Cher Claudie,
You ask very subtle questions.Marie's birthdate, as you may know, is estimated to be 1616. I suspect I obtained this from Pierre-Lionel's book.
(Pierre - if it is not in your book, I aplogize for spreading bad information alleged to come from you. But I know you are reading this and will correct me if I am wrong).
So.......if Thomas was really 20 in 1646 his estimated birth date would be 1626. This.of course, clearly leads to the following sound conclusions:
(1) Jacque Touchet impregnated Marie when she was either nine or ten years old;
(2) The estimates given could each be off a year or two making Marie 12-14 years of age.This would not be unreasonable for a woman to give birth at that time.
(3) One of the records is incorrect representing a time warp of sorts;
(4) Some other reason which we have not thought of yet.
I am betting on #2.
I am glad that I have had this opportunity to clear this up for you.
Ron
