Hi Debra,
I am a direct decsendant of Samuel and Drucilla Corn Lackey. I was looking over the replies and saw you said Drucilla Corn Lackey was buried in Stokes. Where and when did she died. I have researched a long time.I know that after Samuel J. Lackey died she went back to Stokes aand I believed she lived with my great grandfather until she died. James came late to Colorado about 1890. Did I e-mail you a while back? There was someone else in NC researching. Anyway my great grandfather James M. Lackey, son of Samuel always signed his name J.M. Lackey. Where did you find "Matthew"? I have seen it on some papers. Also Robert Levi Lackey not Lee died in Colorado Springs and is buried there. He was married twice. First wife Lucy is buried at Deer Trail as is his father Samuel J. Lackey. Second wife was divorced. How are you related? Three brothers Robert Levi, George Lackey and James M Lackey and their mother came to Colorado at different times in around Deer Trail and then spread out. Also their sister Ruth Lackey and her husband Burton are buried inDeer Trail.I have lots of info and a picture of Samuel and Drucilla Corn Lackey. Will share but sometimes I'm slow. Hope to hear from you. Also James' brother was Henry Carter not what you had. See ya
