Re: William Lackey and Nancy Agnes Stevenson
Do you have any documentation on George S. Lackey who married Betsey.
I have been searching for parents of the George Lackey who is in the 1830 Franklin Co. Tenn census and then in Tippah Co. Miss. in 1840.
I remember reading in one of the earlier Lackey histories the William's son George "went west". There are some other indications that the Franklin Co. Tenn George Lackey had ties to the Iredell Co. Lackeys.
This George Lackey moved on to Dallas Co. Arkansas about 1845 and disappears from the records after the 1860 census with some belief that he perished during the Civil War during Federal General Steele's expedition. George's first born son was named William idicating that George's father may have been a William if naming patterns are followed. This George was also a shoemaker as was Amos Burrel Lackey, son of Amos Lackey and grandson of William Lackey of Iredell, NC.Members of this George Lackey's family and Amos Burrel Lackey's family ended up in the Scott Co. Arkansas area.
I would appreciate any info you may have on George S. Lackey, son of William Lackey.
