Good Morning Crystal! Your message arrived a day after I finally broke though with the family of Eliza Lackey Cropper's husband, Samuel Peter Cropper. I uncovered his grandparents' names and birthdates and that of all of Samuel Cropper's aunts and uncles' names and all their birthdays. Very exciting! When I saw your message title, I couldn't believe it because I know absolutely nothing about the Lackeys except that that maiden name was listed on a death certificate for one of Eliza Lackey Cropper's daughters. When I told my daughter there was possible Lackey info, she told me to go out a buy a lottery ticket as this was my lucky week! RE: Your Lackeys in MD: I don't know what part of the country you are from, but all of my Cropper relatives are from the Eastern shore, which is a 100 mile area that includes VA, MD, and DE. To add to the confusion, part of DE and MD was once PA, so any of these "states" would be very close geographically and if your Lackey came to MD he would be able to go back and forth though those areas easily so it's not out of the question that your Thomas Keaton Lackey could be related to Eliza Lackey Cropper. She was born around 1813 and lists both her parents as being born in PA. One of her daughters had the name Martha Powell Lackey, as I noticed you had Powells as well, another popular Eastern shore name. I also have Davis relatives but that's another story as they are on my mother's side and the Lackey/Croppers are on my father's side. I'll do some further checking when I get a chance. Let me know if you have any questions.(Ronalddell@msn.com) Best, Roberta Cropper Dell.
