Lackey/Clark Info. in 1850s Bible
To Whom it May Concern,
I am seeking to identify the persons mentioned in the following obituary, which is in an 1850's Bible in my possession.Unfortunately, no places or dates are mentioned in the article.
The Bible's original owner was Matilda (Mrs. James T.) Babb of Tennessee and later of Texas.Matilda's maiden name was apparently Clark.I suspect the elderly woman who was the subject of the obituary was her mother. The deceased evidently first married a Clark, then a Lackey.I would appreciate more exact identification.
"Died - At the residence of her son, Mr. B.F. Clark, on the morning of Saturday, the 9th, Mrs. W. [O.?] Lackey, at the advanced age of 90 years.Mrs. Lackey had been a citizen of this neighborhood for more than forty years. She leaves a few children and great many grandchildren and great grandchildren and a great many friends to mourn her loss. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for a great many years..."
