Dear LaDonna,
Marcus Lacey b.1811 m.abt 1835 to Mary Reed was son of John Lacey & Sarah probably Price
John Lacey s/o Philemon Lacey b. 1749/50 and Esther Daniel
s/o unknown, some think that it is William Lacey 1724-35 and Mary Bell Nettles of Greenbrier Co. VA
I believe that if Philemon and William were related they were brothers.I have no proof of this except 30 yr.s of doing family research. This Philemon is my line of Lacey/Lacy
I think that Philemon's father may have been a James Lacey in Charles City Co. VA then maybe to New Kent Co. VA.Philemon's first son was James and because we do not know which one of William's son was born first, could have been James also? Who knows. My line of Laceys usualy always named the first son after the father or the Grandfather and the next son after the other. In all these years I have not seen where any one knows who Philemon's father was. This Philemon Lacey and Esther Daniel Lived in 1770 Va then to Augusta Dist of VA (south west PA) until 1776/ to Yohogania Co. VA until before 1787 (He signed a patition to disband Yohogania, they did about 1787).He went to Washington Vo. N.C. before 1787 (Now Carter Co. TN, there by 1782) (Carter Co. became a County in 1796) maybe to Blount Co. TN before 1820 maybe by 1798 thats when Nancy married, who knows, his daughters Rebecca and Nancy live in Blount Co. also. Now his sons William 1777, Mark there 1813/4 at least, John was in Census in 1830 in Grainger Co. TN (maybe and not impossible he was in two census that year) other wise I do not know who the other John was in Blount Co. unless he was a grandson.Rebecca and her husband John Tipton left Carter Co. about 1819.Nancy Lacy was married abt. 1798 in Blount Co. TN husband was Aaron Beno.Rebecca moved on to GA.
Philemon went to McMinn Co. TN before 1830 and he died 1832 there. Norma (Lacy) Fritts. What do you think??
