Re: William Lacy b.1798 Tenn-
Pat, Cole Co. Mo came from Cooper Co. in 1820.Cole County seat is Jefferson City, MO 65101.John K. Lacey s/o James Lacey and Lydia Stuart, lived in Cooper Co. MO in 1855 or died there. He was a preacher m. to Susan A. Massie, have you hear any of these names.John K. was born in 1807 in GA?? but his father did not have a daughter named Lucinda that I have. John K. with his father came to MO about 1831 from Christian Co. KY.To Benton Co. MO, 1840, in Cooper before 1850 and died there in 1855.I have no children for him.Now Susan, John K's wife died in Clay Co. MO in 1857.So there were Lacys all around that area. The census in these Counties might tell you if Dempsey live there. You can order the census probably from your Library for Clay Co. MO for the year of 1830 (if Dempsy and Lucy got married in the early 1820's)to see if Dempsey was there.Cooper Co. MO was created in 1818 came from Howard Co.Check in the census for any Lacey/Lacy living there at the same time as Dempsy if he is in the census there in 1830. Also might check both Counties, Clay and Cooper in 1820. See if Dempsy's father might be there in Cooper also.
I am good at telling you what to do but these things might give you some clues or might find Lucy!!!
