Great-grandma Leche-St. John Par. ??
I have recently renewed an interest in family ancestry and, thanks to the internet, it has become quite addicting--especially, with these message boards.
I've been banging my head trying to find the St. John Parish "Leche" link in my family. It was only last nite I found the obit listing in the Baton Rouge Advocate of a sister of my grandfather (she lived in the area). In the listing of her parents was the name "Laiche" (her mother)--the spelling I received from my mother was Leche.I have poured thru Census forms provided by Dewayne Montz, and, now feel I have to go thru them again to, hopefully, locate my family members with this other spelling.
Ron, you mentioned Leche family in your lineage and have info on others.By chance, would you have the name of Elise (Eliza was how my mom knew her)Leche married to Adolph Delaneuville? That's all I have.As we all know, record keeping was sometimes not a priority back then.
