Henry Lancour and Catherine Loiselle Duffina
I asked to start this forum because there was none for this family name.My grandmother was Josephine Marie Lancour. She was born in Cheboygan, Michigan in 1911. She moved to Saginaw when she was around 16 and married my grandfather, Arthur Graham Bell, born in Durham County, England.
Josephine's mother and father were Catherine Pearl Loiselle
and Henry Lancour.I know that Henry was Chippewa of the Mackinac Band, near St. Ignace and Mackinac Island.Catherine was most likely born in the area of the Gaspe Penninsula... Port Daniel, Bonaventure, Perce, Newporte, in that area. I have, thanks to Ms. Dobblaere, the Loiselle genealogy almost in it's entirety. ( most that came to U.S. are in the Flint, MI area.) However I am looking for any information on the Loiselle's indian ancestry. It may be that they were Ojibway or MicMac from Gaspe(Fontenelle?) (or possibly Montreal Islands) and it is possible that they were French or a mix of the two. I am looking for someone who knew the family or has records or photos of the family in Quebec or in Cheboygan, or Flint where they settled in the states. My family is trying to find the tribe they may have been a part of beginning in Quebec.
When Henry Lancour passed away, his wife Catherine, married George Duffina also from the Mackinac Band.
Henry and Catherine also had other children....
George Henry married Cora and had no children. a war vet.
Alexander had no children never married but was a war vet.
Albert married Dorothy and had 2 children...fla. also a vet.
Beatrice ...married perhaps a Bushnell...
Josephine married Arthur ( my grandparents)
I am also interested in finding photos of Henry Lancour and George Duffina. Henry's mother was Sarah LaLotte or Lozon and his father was Paul Lancour, I believe Paul's mother was Jane Pond, a sister, Agnus, married a Bourrussa. They were part of the Saginaw Band...Louis ,etc...
I have many photos and certified copies to share as needed...I am hoping I can make connections with all people related to the Lancour's, Lazon's and Loiselle's in order to share information.
