Evidently, my message didn't get posted. You are right that Hester is too young to have a son of that age. These people are in my family tree. The name is definitely Landau, not Landaw. Here's what I have, all from Sunbury:
1860 Gideon Landau - 30 (Moulder) Margaret Landau - 25 Harriet Landau - 11 Mary J. Landau - 8 John Landau- 6 William Landau - 4 Sarah Landau- 11/12
1870 Gideon Landau - 46 (Blacksmith) Esther Landau - 27 John Landau - 16 William Landau -12
1880 Gideon Landau -58 (R.R. Car Inspector) Hester Landau - 38 Emma Landau- 10 John Landau - 26 (Laborer) William Landau - 23 Adam Landau - 6 Clara Landau - 1 Ellen J.- 18 (When I copied this stuff I must not have written down that different last name) Elizabeth - 4
Obviously Gideon remarried Hester or Esther between the 1860 and 1870 Census. My guess would be that Emma, Adam, Clara, and Elizabeth were the children of Gideon and Hester, and that Ellen J. was Hester's child.
