Patti:
Mary's father Allen Craighead is rumored to be buried in Springer, Carter County. However, no such grave has ever been found. His assumed death date is 1897. This was handed down from his son Sam in 1949, but we don't know how reliable it is.
Most of my Texas connections are to Central TX- to Bell, Millam, and Eastland counties from about 1855-1875 era.
My LATER TX connections are to Coleman County, TX. Dunno how far that is from Red River.
I do beleive however that Red River is on the way from OK to Dallas.
Do you know what Jim did for a living? So basically all you have are some census records then? How long have you been searching and what other routes have you tried?
I being to feel that OK is the genalogical equivelant to the black hole of Calcutta.
