Hi--I am back to working on my Landrums.James and Mary Landrum are my 5th gt gpa.I have been doing a lot of reading the past few days and need to find the source again re William Browne, et al.

The notes I have from years back give Mary's father as William Browne and her mother as an "Elizabeth M.".

I have wondered if "M." was the middle initial of Elizabeth Allen. Then the past few days I read something re an Elizabeth Maxwell may have been William's first wife and Mary's mother.

I am trying to put together the names of any sons William may have had and need to look for the printout I have of his will to see if any sons are mentioned.....somewhere in this current reading I think I read William may have had a son Maxwell. If so, maybe the initial could mean "M." for "Maxwell."

And that would continue straw grabbing.

Apparently a common Colonial practice was to use some sort of "in-law" term to indicate a step-parent/step-child relationship.

My descendency runs:James and Mary; their son Patrick; his son Mark; his son Elsa (who w/ the mom Nancy Tapp Landrum and sibs, migrated from Culpeper, VA, possibly by way of Greenbriar Co., then-VA and thento Jackson Co., OH and other Ohio counties); his daughter Lucy Ann Landrum Tilley; her daughter Lulu May Tilley Baker; my mother Lucy P. Baker Dye; myself.Glad to share info.Regards, Lois Dye Trampe
