George,

I have read most of your posted Landrum genealogy records. It is obvious you have invested hours and years of time to connect-the-dots and produce solid research results. I have also spent numerous hours researching the Scot-side of Landrum genealogy/history.

Two items to discuss, with you: 1st I will be traveling to Turriff, Scotland this July. I have coordinated with The National Archives of Scotland on several Landrum topics of interest, to me; including rare maps (identifying 10th/11th century Landrum property boundry adjacent to Hatton castle). These maps belong to the Duffs (current owners of Hatton Castle)and require there permission for viewing. Do you have any specific, pseudo-documented items of interest that I could be of research-assistance with, while there?

2nd, I was born and raised in Hampton, VA. Graduated Hampton High 1963 and attended Virginia Tech. Professional career spent in the DC area with both Govt agency and private corporations supporting National Intelligence operations. I currently reside in both Arizona and New Mexico, but make frequent trips back-east to VA.

Several years ago (upon retirement) I began my Landrum genealogy research. I have not seen much Geneforum (or other web-site narrative)data associated with Hampton-area Landrums'.

My line of Landrums' have continuously resided in Hampton/Elizabeth City Co. since 1788 (documented). I have spent numerous hours in the Hampton court records and have found significant Landrum data (property deeds/ownership with specific boundry locations in Old Hampton. However, if you recall the British (i.e., 1812) burned many of the early Hampton records, so there remains a genealogy linkage/gap from 1788 to prior Essex, Co./Port Royal/Tappahannock area Landrums'.

Do you have any data that connects the below four individuals from Hampton, VA to earlier VA Landrum genealogy?

1. James Landrum - 1788 residing in Elizabeth City Co./ Old Hampton. Only this one year.

2. John Landrum - 1788 to 1802 residing in Elizabeth City Co./Old Hampton.

3. William Landrum (wife Lucy) - 1794 to 1815 residing in Elizabeth City Co./Old Hampton.

4. John Landrum (b.1788) wife Barbara PARISH

My direct documented lineage is:
a. Robert Landrum (b. ABT 1765) wife Sophrina
b. James M. Landrum (b. 1795) wife Elizabeth (b.1793)
c. Robert Landrum (b.1819) wife Hester (HOLLOWAY)
-(son William Wallace Landrum)
-(son Thomas McAlister Landrum)
d. Robert Alphesus Landrum (b.1855) wife Ketura NETTLES
e. Walter Alphesus Landrum (b.1899) wife Eva Estelle MORRIS
f. Walter Parker Landrum (b.1921)wife Amy KUCK
g. Paul Parker Landrum (b.1945) wife Dainna DIGGS

Thanks for any help. You are welcome to contact me outside the Geneforum.
