Gary....is there any PROOF that the William Brown who married Margaret Cloutson/Clouson in 1722 (I think it was) was DEFINITELY the known son of the older William Brown (who married Elizabeth Allen as one of his three wives)? Is it at least POSSIBLE that the William Brown who married Margaret was the son of someone else?

Note: There was about a 26 year difference between that marriage in 1722 and the earlier marriage of Mary Brown to James Landrum.

The Charles Brown who left his will in 1747 in Essex Co., VA had a son named William Brown (whose brothers were Berriman, Merriday and Daniel Brown). This Brown family married into the Noel family on at least three known occasions, and since the Cloutson family also had "connections" to the Noel family, perhaps it is just as likely that the William Brown who married Margaret was the known son of that Charles Brown, versus the known son of William Brown.Comments? Thanks!
