UPDATE:After more research by several people, it now seems very likely that the person who "traces back" to a William Brown in VA....and who matches DNA "Group 69"....was out of a DIFFERENT (and probably unrelated) William Brown than the one who was in Amelia Co., VA by 1740.As such, IF that William Brown who was in Amelia Co., VA by 1740 was TRULY a grandson of the William Brown who married (as one of his three wives) Elizabeth Allen in Essex Co., VA (as seems like a reasonable possibility)....then it would appear that we still do not have a male Brown DNA donor who "traces back" to that William Brown family out of Essex Co., VA (i.e., the same Brown family as the Mary Brown who married James Landrum in Essex Co., VA around 1696).
