UPDATE:It no longer appears that the William Brown who was in Amelia/Prince Edward Co., VA (PECo) by 1740 (married to an Elizabeth unknown) was a member of DNA "Group 69."I still believe, however, that he very well could have been a son of the William Brown, Junior of Essex Co., VA who was himself a son of the older William Brown, Senior who married (as one of his three apparent wives) Elizabeth Allen (a daughter of Valentine Allen and a Miss Page).

The William Brown in Amelia/PECo could also very well have been the same William Brown who: 1) sued a John Landrum for his "freedom dues" in Spotsylvania Co., VA in the 1720s, 2) was one of the men selected to appraise the estate of the (probably unrelated) Abraham Brown (a known member of DNA "Group 10") in Caroline Co., VA in 1735 and 3) was the William Brown who was on jury duty a couple of times in Caroline Co., VA in 1736.

This William and Elizabeth (Unknown) Brown in Amelia/PECo had a son who was named John C. ("Cloutson," I wonder?) Brown (who married a Miss Atkins). That John C. Brown in Amelia/PECo should not be confused with the other John C. ("Colwell," or something like that) Brown who was out of a Brown family that was in Lunenburg Co., VA in the mid-1700s (that other Brown family in Lunenburg included a man who was named Valentine Brown, who was a son of a John (died about 1753) and Jane/Jean (Unknown) Brown).
