My GG grandfather George Langford came out to Australia in 1851 on the Hydaspes and settled in Sth Aust. He was born in Meopham Kent,not far from Gravesend His mother was Susan Langford but that is as far back as I can find the family tree to go. I do know that his mother married a George Russell a few months after George was born, but George retained the Langford name. George at the time he left England was living in Shorne Kent with a family by the name of George and Esther Hollands they also came out to Aust. on the same ship. George Langford was later to marry Eve Mary Dalton a sister of Esther Hollands. I have traced a lot of the descendants of George and Eve Mary but there are a few gaps still to be filled. But my biggest "Brick Wall" is finding factual information on a link to a Kent family of Langford's.
