I can only give you possible clues. My John T. Langford was married at least 3 times and we don't
know who all his early children are and the gaps would fit into your F.M. Incidently, on down a couple
of generations the name Floyd M. Langford was used but he was born in 1882.
I did find where a Frank Lankford married a Miss S.V. Casteel on 23 Jan or Dec 1862 in Pontotoc Co.,
MS. With southern spelling, the age and general names are possibly yours. I could not find this Frank
on the 1860 Pontotoc Co., MS census but when checking the rest of 1860 MS, I found F. Lankford age
27M TN, in the household of L. Lankford 34M TN in 1860 Tishomingo Co., MS.
Also catching my attention as the ages and wife's name were about right is 1860 Greene Co., MS:
Daniel Lankford 26M MS, Sina 25F Ala., Daniel P/T 3M MS, Mary J. 5/12F MS. On Greene Co., MS
marriage records I found a Sina E. Lankford m. T.J. Williams Dec 16, 1880.

Malissa Alice Langford was only about 14 years old when she married Moody, who
was about 29 years old.Malissa "Alice"divorced Moody about 1900 and married
James McCarley. Her two little boys were about 2 and 5.Her older children were
newly married, one of her daughters who had just married took care of the boys,
Wyatte and Ernest.Malissa and James Armp McCarley lived in Temple Texas. The
story goes that the children had a choice to go with her but they didn't like her new
husband.(I don't know who made the choice for the 2 little boys)
James and Malissa Alicehad 2 boys, Clarence and Curtis. In her obituary in the
Temple Daily Telegraph dated May 22, 1926, it reads:"Mrs. J.A. McCarley, aged 57
years, died at a local institution of surgery Friday morning at 10:30 after an illness of
several months.Mrs. McCarley had lived in Temple for the last fifteen years. She is
survived by her husband and six children, four boys and two girls:Preston Stuard
and Wyatt Stuard of Corsicana, Mrs. D.D. Nelson of Corsicana, Mrs. Val Wyley of
Corsicana and Clarence and Curtis McCarley of Temple.Three sisters also survive:
Mrs. S.M. Patrick of Fort Worth, Mrs. Ed Castro of Corsicana and Mrs. W.T. Baker of
Waco, and two nieces who will be here for the funeral:Mrs. G.F. Dresner of Waco
and Mrs. George Cowart of Waco.Family services will be held at the family
residence, 918 South 17th street, Saturday at 3 pm, conducted by Rev. C.G. Brewer.
Internment will be in Hillcrest."(It is interesting to note that her son Ernest is not
mentioned probably because he was in California and had left home at a young age
and was not present at the funeral.) (buried in Section K, Plot 5)
My aunt Barbara Lee (Stewart) Neilsen said that one of Malissa Alice's other 2 boys
(Curtis or Clarence) came (or called), she said came to California and told her father,
Ernie about his mothers death but he did not want to go back for the funeral.
A researcher of the COWART line:Mrs. George Lewis Cowart (the one in the above
obituary) was my Grandmother, I was born in Waco, Tx. in 1941 My grandmother
passed away in February 1963 in Waco. My Grandfather passed away in May 1969
My grandmother's maiden name was Artemise Rachel Griffin and she and my
grandfather moved to Texas from Rome Georgia and my Father was born on the
way in Little Rock Arkansas, his name was Felix Cowart and he passed away in
February 1979.I had no brothers and only one sister who died in 1987 so I am the
end of the line.Would appreciate any help if you know of any anywhere. Those other
names listed in Waco I never heard mentioned, my Grandmother had a sister who
lived there named Sally Corbin.
Malissa married (1-MRIN:25) Moody Burt STEWARD-15son of William STEWARD Jr.-17 and Salina TEDFORD-18 (MRIN:26) about 1882 in Lee, Calhoun or Pontotoc County, Mississippi. The marriage ended in divorce.Moody was born in Mar 1853/1855 in Hamilton, Monroe County, Mississippi. He died in 1909 in Bazette, Navarro County, Texas.
From Robert Stuard "Red":The story goes that Moody had to get out of Mississippi
fast, the Mississippi Rednecks got a hold of 13 Yankee Carpetbaggers who were
stealing from them and hung them.("Red" told me to remember that this was a
time of terrible war in our own country and lots of bad things happened). The Feds
were after the Rednecks so Moody rode out of Mississippi on horseback, he was a
big hunter and took his coon dogs with him.He met up with his wife in Texas and
the family relocated in Corsicana Texas about 1893.Moody did not read or write so
Alice, his wife, unknown to Moody, changed the spelling of their last name to Stuard
(I assume so he couldn't be tracked down).
Then there is the pig story (below), not sure which one is the true one!!
"Autie" Steward (Moody Augusta - James Polk Steward's son)version was:Moody
said someone was stealing his hogs. When he caught the guy, he killed him & left
him in the hog pen & left for Texas.
From Inez (Nelson) McCall:Moody raised cotton and had some cattle.Inez
remembers hermother telling her as they drove by a little cemetery in Bazette, that,
that was where her grandfather (Moody) was buried.Moody told his children that
he walked fivemiles to school in the mud, barefooted.Moody died with symptoms
of Diabetes.Inezsmother was Maude Stuard Nelson, Moodys daughter.
Red Stuard (Robert Moody Stuard) says that his grandfather (Moody) had a brother
in a war (this would be Jasper.)I (Kathy (Stewart) Longhurst) have found Moodys
birth as 1855, thats from my family.1853, from another source and 1857, from the
Malissa married (2-MRIN:213) James Armstead MCCARLEY-877son of
