Re: Brothers, Wiley Washington & J.H. Langham
I am looking for information about a Joel H. Langham who was in Marshall County, MS in 1838 and DeSoto County, MS from 1840 to 1845. In the 1840 census, Joel H. Langham is between 30 and 40 years of age, his wife is younger, and he has four children. Only one of those children, a girl, would have been born before 1830.In 1850 John Langum, of the right age to have been the boy in 1840 is living with a James Shinault family. Delilah Langum, the right age to have been the middle girl, is living with the James Hunter family. She married Wyatt Hunter and is my ggg-grandmother. A Mary L. J. Langham married John Alexander Apperson in 1859 in DeSoto County, but she was apparently born around 1844.I haven't found any other references to Langhams in DeSoto County. However, I have had contact with another person on this forum who believes the DeSoto County Joel H. Langham married Mrs. Rebecca Guy and moved to White County, AR.Her ancestors are Bryant and Rebecca Guy. I know I'm answering an old post, but I really hope you're still out there somewhere because I think we have a connection.
