I descend from James Marion Langley, one of John Manning's sons.I'll be glad to share my line with you.Regarding Taphenese being Native American, I've been researching the Langley line among other lines for nearly twenty years.While there are those who are truely experts on our tree and have done far more research than I, I have not yet found any information of any kind, specifically in the Haralson and Malone genealogies, that even remotely suggests that Taphenese is Native American.I would think that idea likely came from her appearance as she does have the high cheekbones and dark hair of a distinguished Native American appearance.Although I would be proud to have a little Native American blood in my veins, I doubt she is a princess of any sort other than being a special lady in our family.However, the experts mentioned above may be able to shed more light on the story.And, do you have a picture of Taphenese?Email me about James M.'s tree.I would appreciate a copy of yours.
