Langstaff/Fournier match in CA

I am looking for the parents of Beverley Fournier, born 1923 in CA. Her father is listed as Franklin J. Fournier. Only her mother's last name is listed, which is Langstaff. I have found a Franklin Fournier in the 1930's CA Census, but no Beverley is listed in the family. There is a rumour that she was adopted, but of course there is no database on adoptions to check. Any help would be appreciated.
