Hi, I have seen references to that Stephen while doing internet research for my Stephen from Swanville, ME. You can find some information on the Bath Maine website. I apologize, but I do not remember the URL. I found it through searching at www.dogpile.com
All the Maine coast Larrabees seem to have descended from the original one ... Stephen b ca.1620, probably in France. My grandmother believed him to be a Huguenot (no proof yet)from the Gave de Pau Valley. I have been unable to go back before him. He married Margaret Mains in 1652 in N.Yarmouth.They had 9 (+/) children.
The name Stephen follows all the generations. The trick is ...not usually father to son as often as uncle to nephew. (A Stephen might have a brother named William. William would name is son Stephen and Stephen would name is son William ...can drive you NUTS)
I hope some of this helps. Try a good search engine and look for Kennebunk, N. Yarmouth, Wells, Swanville, ME. Oh and Portsmouth (Rockingham Co) NH too. They kept retreating from the Indians.Good Luck.Jean
