George Larrie, Dec'd before 1830
I came across a George Larrie who left a tract of land to his heirs sometime prior to 1830.I saw notes from a Burnt Deed possibly from Rockingham County Courthouse which refers to the sale by a John Larrie in Oct 1830 of a "eight part of an undivided tract of land belonging to the Heirs of George Larrie, Dec'd..."That implies there were eight (8) heirs. There are no boundaries, adjacent properties, or owners nearby named. Is this Larrie the surname for the Lary family that is well documented under Abednego Lary in Rockingham County?Might this "tract of land" refer to a grant or a purchase when the early settlers were coming through Frederick County where Augusta and later Rockingham was organized?Charles R Leary, email: [email protected]
