Hello!
Yes, I knew about William F. Lauderdale dying at Camp Morton.I am trying to find his connection to the Bearden family. My great-great grandfather, Isaac H. Bearden, married Sarah Lauderdale in Marshall Co., TN, in 1844.In 1850, I find William F. Lauderdale living in Marshall Co. in the household of Abram and Deborah Coble.I know that Abram Coble married Deborah Lauderdale in 1848 in Marshall Co. and that Deborah was the sister of Sarah Lauderdale mentioned above. In the 1850 census, the Cobles were living next door to the Jesse Love household and in that household there were two Beardens: Mary (aged 24) and John F. Bearden (aged 6).
In 1851 in Giles Co. Isaac H. Bearden married A.L. Adkins. This was a second marriage for both: the brides's maiden name was Almira Brickeen. In 1852 in Giles Co. James T. Penny married Sarah Bearden.I think this Sarah Bearden was the Sarah Lauderdale mentioned above, thus a second marriage for her.
By 1860 in Giles Co., William F. Lauderdale was living in the household of Sarah Penny (aged 32) together with Sarah J. Penny (aged 6), William F. Lauderdale (aged 18) and John F. Bearden (aged 14.)This Sarah Penny had to be Sarah Lauderdale who married, first, Isaac H. Bearden, and, second, James T. Penny. Was John F. Bearden Sarah's son by her first husband, Isaac H. Bearden? What relation was William F. Lauderdale to her?Nephew?Cousin?
I've posted questions about Jesse Love on the Love family forum, but haven't received any replies.
